On this page you will find information on where to find legendary chests in Assassin's Creed Odyssey. There are a total of 17 chests that can be located in the game. Each legendary chest contains a fixed loot, which can be a legendary weapon, a legendary piece of armor or a unique sail pattern that can be mounted on Adrestia.

Basic information
Legendary chests are quite easy to recognize. They have a golden colour and a unique shape with figures of several animals. Many chests are located in locations guarded by enemies. If you don't want to fight them, do a reconnaissance with Icaros and reach only those locations where the chests are located. One of them will finally be a legendary one.
Additional note - It is a good idea to wait until you advance to a sufficiently high level of experience before you start your journey to find all chests. Legendary items always have additional statistics that are fixed (e.g. fire damage bonus), but their level is always adjusted to the current level of hero's experience. So if you get an item, e.g. on level 20, and you want to use it until the end of the game you will have to improve it regularly at the blacksmith's to reach the maximum level of 50. This can be very expensive.
Achilles's Spear
Chest location: Olynthos Fortress, region of Makedonia.
Item stats and type: White weapon, a spear. +15% hunter damage, +15% spear damage, +20% to Multi-Shot damage.
Agamemnon's Gauntlets
Chest location: Silver Mine, region of Attika.
Item stats and type: Gauntlets from a legendary set. +15% to warrior damage, +25% elemental buildup.
Note - The exact same gloves can also be obtained by murdering one of the cultists. The hero's inventory will contain two items of this type if you do so.
Eros's Bow
Chest location: Andania Mine, region of Messenia.
Important note - The legendary chest is not among those associated with the objectives of the location (2x Loot Treasure). You still have to set off on the location you are looking for, even if you have a mine marked on the map as an explored location. You must enter the mine (picture above) and reach the very end of the mine. You will find a legendary chest at the end.
Item stats and type: Bow. +15% hunter damage, +15% adrenaline per hit, 50% chance to not consume special arrows.
Falx of Olympos
Chest location: Underwater Palace of Amphitrite, north-east of the island of Thera (southeastern part of the world map).
Before you dive it's worth to do a scouting with an Ikaros and try to shoot a few sharks out of the bow.
Item stats and type: White weapon, spear. +15% assassin damage, +20% adrenaline per crit, +100% damage but health bar reduced by 75%.
Note - The hero only has 25% health after setting this weapon in one of the active slots. This weapon can be called a cursed weapon, although it can be very useful to increase the overall damage inflicted by the hero. For example, you can use a bow instead and more easily eliminate enemies without risking life in direct confrontation with them.
Fanged Bow
Chest location: Cave of Mt. Zas, Naxos Island.
Item stats and type: Bow. +13% assassin damage, +16% poison damage, basic and standard arrows become poison arrows.
This is quite an important finding, as you can apply the engraving associated with this bow to other bows at the blacksmith and make them always release poisoned arrows.
Hades's Bident
Chest location: Fort Mount Ithome, region of Messenia.
Item stats and type: White weapon, spear. +13% warrior damage, +20% to critical damage, +20% damage with Ring of Chaos Ability.
Hammer of Jason
Chest location: Mycenae, region of Argolis.
Item stats and type: White weapon, heavy blunt. +15% warrior damage, +15% damage with heavy blunt weapons, +20% damage with shield break ability.
Herakles's Bow
Chest location: Koinyra Fortress, Thasos Island.
Item stats and type: Bow. +15% warrior damage, +10% damage with Bow Charged Shot, +20% damage with Bull Rush Ability.
Herakles's Mace
Chest location: Temple of Demeter and Kore, Region of Arkadia.
Item stats and type: White weapon, heavy blunt weapons. +13% hunter damage, +12% to adrenaline per hit, +40% with bows when above target.
Pilgrim's Belt
Chest location: Temple of the Golden-Bowed Goddess, region of Malis.
Item stats and type: Belt from the legendary set. +15% assassin damage, +25% to adrenaline after assassination kill.
Note - Completing and putting on all five elements of the pilgrim's kit (the next described below) guarantees an additional bonus - 40% reduction in adrenaline consumption by the ability of Shadow of Nyx..
Pilgrim's Boots
Chest location: Temple of Britomartis, region of Messara.
Item stats and type: Boots from legendary set. +15% assassin damage, +20% movement speed while crouching.
Pilgrim's Garment
Chest location: Temple of Athena, region of Lakonia.
Item stats and type: Legendary torso. +15% assassin damage, +25% adrenaline on assassination kill.
Pilgrim's Gloves
Chest location: Akropolis of Argos, region of Argolis.
Item stats and type: Gloves from a legendary set. +15% assassin damage, +15% adrenaline per hit.
Pilgrim's Hood
Chest location: Eleusis Telesterion, region of Attika.
Item stats and type: Hood from a legendary set. +11% assassin damage, +9% damage with daggers.
Poseidon's Trident
Chest location: A small island with a statue of Poseidon north of the island of Samos (the western part of the world map).
Item stats and type: White weapon, spear. +15% warrior damage, +25% crit damage, breathe underwater.
Note - The last feature of this weapon is very useful. As long as you have a trident in one of the active slots, the main hero can stay under water for as long as he wants. There is no air supply bar on the screen at all. This is a very useful piece of equipment for exploring underwater locations.
The Hound of Hades
Chest location: Underwater location - Pavlopetri, region of Lakonia. It's best to do a reconnaissance with Ikaros. The chest is a little bit distant from the marker - it is closer to the shore.
Item stats and type: Unique sail pattern of Ogar Hades. This is a purely cosmetic change and does not affect Adrestia statistics.
