Every time in Metro Exodus you have to travel a section of the map in a boat. You will have the first such opportunity in Volga, when you go to the fanatics' church. It may happen, however, that you will fall victim to the attack of bloodthirsty beasts when you paddle calmly. What to do then?

There're a few options. Often the monster's attack actually takes the form of a QTE and we have to throw off the beast that attacked us. Usually, however, this does not solve our problem and we often have to kill several creatures. You have to stop rowing at once, grab your guns and simply shoot enemies.

Depending on who you are facing, you have to fire more or fewer bullets. At a later stage of the game, you will encounter, among other things, powerful tentacles, which require the use of considerable firepower and possibly bullets, when they hide in the water.
