This chapter in our guide to Metro Exodus focuses on your visit to the Baron's Fortress. Artyom, Damir, and Giul want to deal with the Baron and his people once and for all.
Complete all side activities before you head to the Baron's Fortress - after completing that mission, you won't be able to go back to the Caspian Sea!
Go to the place marked on the map - you will meet Giul and Damir. Follow them to the tunnel. Go through the grate - you have to make another choice that will determine the chapter's ending and Damir's fate. Choose whether you want to use an offensive or stealth approach.
Tunnel - offensive approach
If you don't care about leaving corpses behind, the path through the sewer will be rather easy for you. Keep moving through the rooms and focus on killing everyone. The majority of the bandits will be standing with their backs turned towards you - a great opportunity to kill them with a knife. Grenades and Molotov cocktails work great in narrow corridors.
Meeting the Baron
Regardless of which approach you chose, go down the stairs. Listen to the conversation with Baron and then go to the closed gate. Time to go to the Baron - on your way, you will come across a man harassing slaves. Stun or kill him. Choose the first option if you want to get a good ending.
You reach the Baron. Giul will join you. However, the Baron manages to escape. Prepare for a battle with numerous enemies. Hide behind covers and focus on eliminating bandits. Stronger bandits will appear gradually - stay cautious and manage your ammo and medkits well.
Damir's fate
Soon, Damir will appear. He and Artyom will confront the Baron. After the cut-scenes, you will learn about Damir's decision. If you rescued slaves from their cages and you didn't kill any of them (stunning is acceptable), and you gave Giul the photo of her mother, Damir will go back on the Aurora. Otherwise, Damir will stay with Giul in the Caspian Sea.
