On this page of the LEGO Skywalker Saga game guide, you will find the third part of the walkthrough for Episode 5 (The Empire Strikes Back). This page describes the Never Tell Me the Odds level. You will learn how to escape from the attacked rebel base, how to get rid of Star Destroyers, and how to successfully escape through the asteroid field.
Echo Base Escape!
After dealing with the AT-AT machines in the previous stage, you will return to the Echo Base. Unfortunately, you have to escape from it as it is being attacked by enemy forces. During the escape, follow the path marked by the yellow icons.
Expect to encounter more enemies along the way. It's a good idea to use covers to stay safe while attacking, but watch out for enemies throwing grenades. At some point, Darth Vader will appear for a moment, but you will not engage in any direct fight with him during the escape. Keep running to reach the blue circle to start the Never Tell Me the Odds level.
Never Tell Me the Odds - challenges
This level features 3 challenges:
- Asteroid Evasion - You need to avoid contact with the asteroids during the asteroid chase. It is a part at the end of the stage, and we discussed it in more detail in our walkthrough.
- Proton Power - You need to destroy 5 TIE Fighters using proton torpedoes. You can complete this challenge in the second part of the mission, i.e. after receiving the task of attacking Destroyer hardware. Do not use the proton torpedoes you collect to attack ships, but target the TIE Fighters flying around (example in the picture). You shouldn't run out of them.
- Take Evasive Action! - You have to finish the encounter with the Star Destroyer without dying. This is an easy challenge because it doesn't involve escaping the asteroid field when it's easiest to crash. Just remember to react when you are targeted and do a barrel in the air (L1 R1 or LB RB on a pad, on PC - Alt Ctrl).
Never Tell Me the Odds - walkthrough
You will start this stage in outer space, but before you attack Destroyers, you have to get rid of 10 TIE Fighters. When playing this battle, remember that when you are attacking enemy spaceships, you should aim "in advance" - at the small circle that takes account of the correction for the projectile trajectory.
In the second part of the mission, you will be tasked with attacking radars and turrets installed on Destroyers. To complete this task, you will need proton torpedoes, which you can obtain by destroying smaller ships with a characteristic glow (example in picture 1).
When using torpedoes, remember to wait for the target lock and press the attack button shown on the screen (different from the blaster fire button).
In the last part of the mission, you have to fly through the asteroid field. Its hardship is that the game will not allow you to stray too far from the established flight route and may bring you back on it.
Focus on avoiding objects while maintaining a safe distance - it is worth changing the position of the controlled ship in advance. Stud rings may hint the correct flight route. Completing this scene will also complete the entire level.
