Firestarter is a quest with an important choice from Phantom Liberty. The walkthrough from our guide to Cyberpunk 2077 tells you how to score an encounter with Kurt Hansen, when an important choice appears, and how to escape the stadium after helping Songbird or Reed.

Firestarter is one of the most important main quests in the Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077. The walkthrough informs how to get to the stadium, how to prepare for the conversation, how to answer Hanson, when you have to make an important choice , and how to escape from the stadium together with Reed or Songbird.

Reaching the stadium and parking the vehicle in the garage

1. The quest will begin immediately after completing I've Seen That Face Before quest in which you had to eliminate a pair of netrunners. You cannot return to free exploration until this quest is completed. On the way to the stadium, avoid breaking the law or hitting something to avoid pursuit.
2. Enter the underground parking lot and stop at the identity verification point. Park in the designated place and get out of the car.

Following Murphy

1. Alex will tell you that you can review the files of the person you are impersonating (V key by default). You will learn about Aymeric's past and his habits - knowledge that will come in handy when you meet Kurt Hansen.
2. After exiting the car and talking to Alex, you will be greeted by Murphy. Follow him to the elevator. On the way, you need to leave the weapons in the locker (you will recover them later in the quest). You can ask Murphy about the details of the operation or focus on getting to Hansen.

Meeting with Kurt Hansen

1. You should treat the conversation with Kurt Hansen as an interrogation to some extent. You must give answers and behave according to the info in the files.
2. Hansen will notice the first mistake - you can continue the meeting or defend yourself with a special Cool dialogue option (requires 13 attribute points).

1. If you make the second mistake, there is a risk that V and Alex will be killed. This happens if you do not quickly choose the escape option.

The most important moments of the conversation as Aymeric are:

1. Mention winning at the roulette table - this is true.
2. Choose the Porsche 911 as the car you wanted to purchase.
3. Choose one of the options for refusing a drink (second or third).
4. Ask Hansen to take a look at his knife.
5. When asked about Petrochem, answer that you don't remember (last dialogue option).

If you did everything right, Songbird will appear and you will go after her.

Important choice - ally with Songbird or Reed

Go with Songbird to the device and listen to her plan. Connect to the mainframe. After a while, you will have to make an important choice with 2 options:

1. Help Songbird escape - choose the first dialogue option.
2. Help Reed to capture Songbird - choose the second dialogue option.

From this point on, the plot of the expansion branches out - there will be slight differences in the next sections, and after completing this quest you will receive different main missions.

Option 1 - Help Songbird escape

1. The variant will start with Alex killing Hansen after receiving the signal.
2. Meanwhile, Songbird will hack the stadium's defense systems. Reed and Hansen will find out about V's betrayal, but you don't have to confront them now.

Before you leave the first room, collect your weapons from the containers, as you are defenseless now. Our recommendation is the purple Overture revolver.

During your escape, you must defeat or evade Hansen's men. Songbird can help you eliminate them by hacking elements of the environment on your command(example in the picture). She can hack:

1. helicopter blades or bots (will be activated);
2. vehicles or a turret;
3. minotaur (large mech) or turrets.

1. Reach the upper balconies and enter the left room. You can take all your weapons out of the cabinet (above image) - remember to put them back in the active slots in the inventory.
2. You have to go through the market and reach a door leading to the tunnels adjacent to the stadium.

1. Move the box in the tunnels. Instead of live opponents, you will encounter combat drones - you can destroy them with firearms or hack them.
2. You will reach a grate - break it. After jumping down, help Songbird get up, leave the homeless camp and wait for allied vehicles to arrive. The Killing Moon main quest will begin.

Option 2 - Help Reed capture Songbird

1. If you choose this option, the attempt to paralyze and capture Songbird with the help of ICEbreaker will fail. She becomes an enemy, but you won't fight her now.
2. In the room upstairs, Hansen will kill Alex.

1. You have to escape from the stadium. Before you leave the first room, collect your weapons from the containers, as you are defenseless now. Our recommendation is the purple Overture revolver. During your escape, you must defeat or evade Hansen's men.
2. Reach the upper balconies and enter the left room. You can take all your weapons out of the cabinet (above image) - remember to put them back in the active slots in the inventory.

1. You have to go through the market, where you will encounter more enemies. When you reach the larger square in the picture, the gate will rise and Kurt Hansen will appear. We described the confrontation with boss Kurt Hansen and his men in more detail in the Bosses chapter.
2. After defeating Hansen, search his corpse. Besides unique weapons, you will find an access card.

1. You can now reach the double doors at the edge of the square. Use the elevator to go down to the underground garage. On the way to Reed, instead of live opponents, you will encounter combat drones - you can destroy them with firearms or hack them.
2. Once you reach the garage, don't waste time attacking enemies, but run to the vehicle and take a passenger seat. You will escape from the stadium with Reed.
3. After parking, lean out the window. You will learn that NCPD forces have captured Songbird. Get out of the car. You will unlock the next main quest - Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos.
