Taming Darkness is the main quest of visiting Rasputin in Warsaw in The Thaumaturge. The walkthrough tells you how to start the quest, where the apartment in the Powazki district is, and when the quest can reappear in Wiktor's diary.

One of the missions you'll have a chance of completing in Act 1 of The Traumaturge is Taming Darkness. On this page of our guide, we show how to unlock the task in question, where to find Rasputin in a tenement home in Powazki district, and when you'll need his help again in the later stages of the game.

Unlocking the quest

1. You can unlock this quest in the course of What We Leave Behind story quest.
2. While in Szulski Family Tenement Home in Northern Srodmiescie, go to the ground floor. The phone next to the stairs will start to ring. When you answer it, it turns out that Rasputin is the one calling, and he will invite Wiktor to the house where he is staying during his time in Warsaw.

Visiting Rasputin on Powazkowska Street 7

1. Leave the Szulski Tenement House, and use carriage or tram to fast travel to Powazki district. The sought tenement home is in the eastern part of the map.
2. After entering the building, Wiktor will be greeted by the maid. Choose any dialogue option - you will be let inside (also during night hours).

1. After finding yourself inside the tenement house, you can optionally look around for new collectibles and observations. The traces are Apartment, Invitations, Medications, Perfume Bottle, and Decorative Fan. The Nadarzynski Family conclusion will also be unlocked.
2. Talk to Rasputin in the eastern room. He will introduce you to Aniela Nadarzynska. You can exhaust all dialogue options or end the conversation prematurely.

Continuing the quest in later stages of the game

1. A follow-up to this quest can reappear in the journal with further story events. This will happen every time during future quests you'll defeat a new Salutor.
2. Rasputin will help Wiktor tame a new Salutor. For this you'll need to return to the apartment and watch a scene of Rasputin hypnotizing a new creature. Completing this action unlocks the given Salutor as a controllable ally in further fights, as well as adds new items to The Thaumaturgy menu.
