Direhorses are majestic, gentle creatures traversing the vast steppes of Pandora. The Na'vi living on the planet have developed a symbiotic relationship with fauna, using them as mounts or help during hunts. On this page we show how to tame a Direhorse and use it as means of transport.
All mounts
In Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, you will find a huge map on which you can move on foot, using fast travel points, and on the backs of animals intended for this purpose. Mounts are divided into two types:
- Ikran - a huge reptile resembling a pterodactyl, which you will get after about 10 hours of the game. You can fly on it, which makes exploring the map much easier, but you must remember that you will only be able to fly to subsequent regions after unlocking this option during the game.
- Direhorse - this ground animal will be unlocked later in the game. Below you will find a description of how and when to find and unlock it.
Where to find a Direhorse?
Direhorses appear in the steppe region of the map, access to which you unlock as the story progresses. Flat plains are perfect grazing grounds for this species, which live in small herds of several individuals.
Once you reach in this biome as part of the story, start by looking around the nearest vicinity. There is a high chance that somewhere within sight you will spot a group of Direhorses. Additionally, you can use Na'vi Senses to facilitate looking for these six-legged beings.
How to unlock Direhorse mounts?
Your first Direhorse ride will take place not long after arriving to the plains. A representative of the local, nomadic Na'vi clan will introduce you to taming these creatures.
Same as with Ikran, you first need to gain the animal's trust. When you are close enough to a Direhorse, press the button that appears on the screen. Slowly approach the horse until he accepts your presence. After a moment, you'll be able to mount it.
Mounts are perfect when you need to cover an extended distance much faster. The six-legged Direhorses can be ridden fast, and additionally, your hero can fire weapons from horseback. Unlike Ikran, your bond with Direhorse is a loose agreement. When you dismount it, after a moment the horse will split, with you having to get a new one.
One of the skills in Rider tree will allow you to approach wildlife on horseback without being thrown off the saddle. This option will be especially useful during hunting.
