How to Get Living Steel in Diablo 4 and What it Does
Season 2 of Diablo 4 has brought in a lot of new content, including the boss Grigoire, The Galvanic Saint. To summon it, a new resource called Living Steel must be used.
Living Steel drops only from a chest called Tortured Gift of Living Steel, which is guarded by an Elite Boss. Similarly to a Mystery Chest, it will only start to show on your map if you get closer to it. It’s important to note that, on the map, the chest appears under the name Tortured Gift of Infernal Steel, instead.
Only one Tortured Gift of Living Steel will spawn per a Helltide region per reset. What is more, it costs 300 Cinders to open it, for at least 3 Living Steel per chest. The material is rather challenging to collect, but if you plan to farm Grigoire, you will need a large stock of it.
In World Tier 3, you need 2 Living Steel to summon the new boss; however, in World Tier 4, you will need 5 Living Steel instead. Check the list of possible Tortured Gift of Living Steel locations below to help you farm:
- Hawezar – Dismal Foothills
- Scosglen – North Shore
- Scosglen – Deep Forest
- Fractured Peaks – Sarkova Pass
- Kehjistan – Southern Expanse
Once you are ready to fight Grigoire, you can use Living Steel in Hall of the Penitent to spawn him.
