The dark and mysterious priestess of Shar is one of the first characters you will be able to add to your party in Baldur's Gate 3. The tips on this page will help you recruit Shadowheart, and will also tell you how to steal... her heart.

How to unlock a romance with Shadowheart?

1. You will meet the priestess in the first minutes of the game. In the opening sequence, while escaping from the Illithid ship, the cleric will ask you for help in getting out of a locked chamber. There are several options to free the woman (force open the chamber, interact with the control console), but none of them should pose a big problem for your character.
2. After the ship crashes, the unconscious cleric will be lying near where you landed. After waking her up and a short conversation, Shadowheart will join your party.
3. Despite the connection with a mysterious and dark goddess, Shadowheart appreciates acts of kindness and compassion. Searching for solutions that avoid aggression and focus on doing good will make your character gain the priestess's favor. The cleric will especially appreciate positive actions directed towards oppressed and persecuted groups (e.g. Tieflings hidden in the Druid Grove).
4. As a Trickery Domain cleric, Shadowheart will respond positively to cunning or deceit. As a person devoted to faith, the priestess also favors heroes who demonstrate extensive knowledge of religion.
5. Shadowheart dislikes Lae'zel. Although it is possible to bring the women to an agreement during the story, choosing the priestess's side during the conflict will help you gain her sympathy.
6. If you do not want to jeopardise your relationship with Shadowheart, you should avoid: unnecessary violence and contempt; favoring the rich and privileged; showing sympathy towards Lae'zel and other Githyanki and dishonesty when talking with the cleric.
7. If you decide to save the Druid Grove and your relationship with Shadowheart is high enough, you will be able to have a short interaction with the cleric during the celebration at the camp. During the conversation, express your concern about the spiritual struggles of the priestess. A properly conducted conversation should lead your character to spend a night with her.
8. Act 2 will force you to make a rather significant, plot-related choice involving the character called Nightsong. Regardless of whether you choose to kill or spare Aasimark, your romantic relationship with Shadowheart can continue. However, depending on your choice, the climactic sequences of the romance will be slightly different.
