Brotato is an action game with RPG, roguelike and bullet hell shooter elements, inspired by the bestselling Vampire Survivors. It was developed by Blobfish, an indie one-man studio, behind the development of this title.
Plot
The main character of the game Brotato is the titular potato coming from the Potato World. The protagonist's space journey ended with an emergency landing on an alien planet. Waiting to be rescued, our protégé must face hordes of enemies.
Game mechanics
In Brotato we observe the action from a top-down view. The gameplay takes place in arenas and involves the extermination of hordes of enemies. Successive waves differ from each other in terms of duration and intensity. We eliminate our adversaries using a wide range of weapons (our potato can use six guns at once), which include machine guns, flamethrowers and rocket launchers, as well as less conventional (given the circumstances) weapons such as swords, clubs and stones. Brotato can shoot automatically, allowing us to focus on maneuvering between enemies and avoiding their attacks; however, nothing prevents us from switching to manual aiming.
As we progress, we gain experience and collect useful materials; moreover, between successive waves we can visit the store to properly prepare for the next attacks. In addition, over time we unlock new characters, each with unique strengths and weaknesses (we're talking about knights, mages or one-armed heroes, among others).
The title also allows us to adjust individual gameplay parameters to individual skills. Among other things, we can adjust the health and speed of enemies and the damage they inflict to our own preferences.
Technical aspects
Brotato features simple, two-dimensional graphics made in a cartoon style. The whole thing is colorful and clear, which allows you to quickly get an idea of the situation in the arena.
