Red Dead Redemption 2: Things transferred to epilogue - which? Red Dead Redemption 2 Guide and Walkthrough

On this page of our Red Dead Redemption 2 guide, we inform what items, equipment, or game progress, are transferred from Chapter 6 to Epilogue.

Last update: 23 September 2022

The story mode in Red Dead Redemption 2 has an unusual structure, because the epilogue of the campaign contains dozens of new missions, which take several hours to complete. On this page of the RDR2 guide we explain what things (progress, items of equipment, etc.) are transferred from chapter 6 to the game epilogue.

Our list does not contain any important spoilers. You can read this information even if you have not completed all the main chapters of the game yet.

The following list contains the most important elements of the game - Red Dead Redemption 2: Things transferred to epilogue - which? - Campaign - Red Dead Redemption 2 Guide

The following list contains the most important elements of the game. At each item we inform whether the progress/items are transferred from the last (sixth) chapter of the campaign to its expanded epilogue.

  1. Hero's statistics - Yes. When the epilogue starts, the main attributes (health, endurance, Dead Eye) are at the same level as they were at the end of the main campaign. So you can continue to reach their maximum values (this is one of the requirements to complete the game in 100 percent).
  2. Weapons - Yes. You must complete several initial epilogue missions before you regain access to them. The game allows you to continue using all the weapons you bought or won in the main campaign. Also, you won't lose their upgrades, unique skins, etc.
  3. Ammunition - Yes. Retrieve all your weapons to receive your ammo supplies. You get both regular ammo and the special types (that were either purchased or crafted).
  4. Outfits - Yes. In the first part of the epilogue, the main hero's outfits are fixed, although after you get promoted to the second part of the epilogue, you can visit the wardrobe in the newly established camp. There you will find all the clothes that you received or bought in the main campaign.
  5. Other inventory items - Yes, but only selected ones. You can still use basic equipment such as binoculars or bandana. Some worn items (e.g. medicines, tonics or crafting ingredients) are lost.
  6. Challenges - Yes. All progress will be retained, even in the case of challenges that have not been completed in full. You can continue to deal with them and buy related items from the trapper.
  7. Side missions - No. The game will not allow you to deal with side quests that you have ignored in chapters 2-6. The only way to do so is to load the previous save of the game before the final events in chapter 6. You can continue to repeat the main quests in chapters 1-6 by selecting them from the main menu. It is worth noting that in epilogue the game provides new side tasks that were previously unavailable.
  8. Collector Cards - Yes. You will not lose any cards you have collected before. You can also continue searching for other types of secrets. (dinosaur bones, treasure maps etc.).
  9. Honor - No. When the epilogue begins, the honor bar (reputation) will be back in the middle of the scale. You have to build it anew if you care about e.g. discounts in shops. In the newly "unlocked" state of New Austin, fortunately there are a lot of random meetings in which you can easily earn positive honor points.
  10. Money - No. You start the epilogue with very little cash. Fortunately, by completing the epilogue you will earn a lot of money.
  11. Horses - No. In the epilogue the main horse, which you used at the end of chapter 6, and any other horses that could have been kept in the stable are lost. After you complete the epilogue, you will receive a completely new mount, with which you have to build a new bond from the very beginning. You can also buy new horses in the stables or find wild horses in the game world.
  12. Activities of the gang camp - No. You cannot use any of the camp's facilities (carts with supplies, free food, etc.). In the second part of the epilogue, the main character sets up a new camp, where the most important objects such as a bed, a chest for clothes, a campfire for cooking food or a map for quick travel appear.
  13. Fast Travelling - Yes. You must first advance to the second part of the epilogue, because only then a new camp is set up. Here you will find a map that lets you travel to other locations. As in the main chapters fast travel is free of charge.
  14. Fines - No. You don't have to worry about paying a fine if you've been a tough criminal in the sixth or previous chapters. When you start the epilogue there are no fines on your wanted level.
