How to unlock
You can use the Force when controlling a Jedi or a Sith. From the very start of the game (if you're starting with episode 1 or 4) you'll have access to a few Jedi. Ben Kenobi is one of the more obvious heroes to possess the Force. When you play as him, you will see many puzzles that require uing the Force. We have described all such moments in our walkthrough.
Usage
The Force is very useful and versatile. You can use it to open locked passages. Simply use mind control on an enemy on the other side and open the door while controlling them. We've included more information about it on the Mind control - how does it work? page.
You can also use it for more evil purposes. You can take over someone and make them attack their companion. In this way, you can perform a near-silent takedown without rushing straight into a fight.
The Force can also come in handy in combat. It lets you pick up nearby items and throw them at the enemies or push them back.
Some crates and other items can only be picked up with the Force. If your character can't use the Force, you'll see a Jedi icon above these items.
These crates can be used to build staircases, climb into rooftops or reach collectibles. Doing so is sometimes necessary during the main quests.
