Infinite Wealth: Hawaiian Haunt and Yokohama Underground Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth guide, tips

Exploring random dungeons is one of the main activities of Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth. This guide page describes how to unlock the Hawaiian Haunt and Yokomaha Underground dungeons, as well as what treasures and dangers are associated with the dungeons.

Last update: 26 January 2024

Dungeon crawling in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is a good way of leveling characters, obtaining loot, and scoring rewards. On this page of our guide, we show the locations of dungeon entrances for both Honolulu and Yokohama, what to expect when exploring a dungeon, and finally what unique rewards are there for clearing further floors/sectors of a dungeon.

Unlocking Hawaiian Haunt (Honolulu)

  1. The Honolulu dungeon will be unlocked automatically during Chapter 5. During its course, you'll reach a large construction site called the Labirynth, and Substory 34 - Legend of the Labirynth, will be initiated.
  2. To advance with the main story, you'll need to complete 5 first floors of the dungeon. When that happens, the party will automatically leave the dungeon. From now on, you can freely enter Hawaiian Haunt, which is in the western part of the city. The entrance is at Riverside Walk. Once in the area, you'll encounter an NPC called Robo Michio, from whom you can choose the dungeon to explore.

Unlocking Yokohama Underground (Isezaki Ijincho)

  1. The Isezaki Ijincho dungeon will be unlocked automatically during the course of Chapter 10. During the story, you'll reach an abandoned building and Utamaru will tell you about the possibility of going underground.
  2. For the purpose of main story, you only need to complete floors 1-5 from the first sector. From now on, you can freely enter Yokohama Underground, which is in the northern part of the city. For services related to the dungeon, you can talk to Utamaru and nearby merchant.

Additional note - Yokohama Underground will ultimately have 2 entrances - northern and southern. The choice of entrance doesn't matter, because both lead to the same place, i.e. to the NPC named Utamaru.

DLC Dungeon - The Big Swell (Honolulu)

  1. The Big Swell is an endgame dungeon available exclusively to the Deluxe or Ultimate editions of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. It is part of the Master Vacation Bundle DLC.
  2. You must first complete the game and start the Premium Adventure, i.e. the endgame. On Aloha Beach in Honolulu, a blue marker should appear - the picture shows it.
5 - Infinite Wealth: Hawaiian Haunt and Yokohama Underground - Secrets and activities - Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth Guide
  1. Upon arriving at the location, you will watch a series of cut-scenes. The party will eventually visit the Downtown district in west Honolulu and discover the entrance to The Big Swell dungeon.
  2. Yappi-kun will welcome you inside - you can start exploring the dungeon with him. The Big Swell has 5 sectors by default. This is a high-level dungeon and the first sector is recommended to be at least level 55. We recommend leveling up your party to around level 60 in the previous dungeons before trying your luck in The Big Swell.
  3. The Big Swell, similar to the other dungeons, allows you to exchange points for rewards, heal your party, use the item box, and quickly switch Jobs in the changing room.

Rules of dungeon crawling

6 - Infinite Wealth: Hawaiian Haunt and Yokohama Underground - Secrets and activities - Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth Guide
  1. Dungeons in the game are built from sectors. Each sector is characterized by a recommended party level and you shouldn't choose sectors whose level is higher than your own. I mean, you can, but you'll have a hard time completing next encounters and die often.
  2. Each sector consists of 10 floors, but you don't have to complete them all at once. After reaching floor 5, you can leave the dungeon without losing your progress. Moreover, on floor 5, there is always a save station and means of replenishing HP/MP. If the team leader falls during combat in the dungeon, you'll be reverted to floor 5 again. Manage your party (conserving MP for activating skills, regenerating health, spending Consumables wisely) skillfully to make sure you have enough supplies to reach floor 5 or 10.
  3. In opposition to Yakuza 7, dungeons are now randomly-generated and the game draws the layout of rooms on an ongoing basis. You should always strive to explore 100% of the given floor/sector. This will not only allow you to collect every treasure in the location, but you'll also be able to save all hostages and this is rewarded with an additional reward. The dungeon layout mostly consists of corridors and square rooms that may contain e.g. loot or enemies (ordinary or minibosses).
  4. On each floor, you'll find a ladder leading to the lower level of the dungeon. You can use it or retreat to the surface - choose the second option if the team is on its last legs.
7 - Infinite Wealth: Hawaiian Haunt and Yokohama Underground - Secrets and activities - Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth Guide
  1. Dungeons initially have 3 sectors to choose from. At the end of the third sector you will encounter a bigger boss.
  2. Defeating the boss will, in addition to new, unique rewards, unlock access to the EX Sector dungeons. They have an even higher recommended level, but you can obtain high-quality equipment or very rare crafting materials.

Loot and unique rewards

8 - Infinite Wealth: Hawaiian Haunt and Yokohama Underground - Secrets and activities - Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth Guide
  1. There is a lot of small loot waiting to be discovered in the dungeons. Among items, you'll find unique dungeon currencies - Robo Disks for Hawaiian Haunt and Goemijul's Survey Data for Yokohama Underground. You can spend the discs on rewards in the dungeon shop found right next to the entrance to the dungeon. The shop's stock includes e.g. rare weapons or unique blueprints for Dondoko Island mini-game.
  2. Additionally, there are rewards for completing dungeons - for clearing a particular sector for the first time, for repeated clearings of the same sector, and for saving all hostages in the given sector. The rewards include high-quality weapons or equipment items.
  3. While exploring dungeons, look for loot on the ground (shiny objects - your companions will issue a remark when you are close to one) and on shelves. You also may come across safes that opening consumes Safe Key. Be careful, however, because, instead of a reward, there may be an enemy inside. For this reason, don't open safes if your team is severely battered.
