In Assassin's Creed: Valhalla you can acquire pieces of gear not only through missions but also from special chests that contain interesting items. You can get a new weapon, shield or pieces of armor for free. However, some of the gear chests are hidden inside buildings, tunnels, underground, or even are under lock and key. This page of our guide describes where the gear chests are located in the Rygjafylke region.
Recurve Bow
You will find the Recurve Bow in the northwestern part of Rygjafylke.
To get to the gear chest you have to jump into the hole between the wooden planks. It is easy to get to it if you use Odin's Sight. Then the golden box will light up and show you the way. You can jump down into the basement or use the ladder in a civilized way.
There will be no enemies at the bottom, so you can freely look around and get all the items you can get your hands on.
As a reward you will receive the Predator Bow. Remember that it features a unique aiming technique and not everyone will like it. So check how to use it before you upgrade your new weapon.
Yngling Seax
You will find the Yngling Seax in the western part of Rigjafylke, near Eikundarsund.
To get to the gear chest you have inside the wooden building with black and white banners hanging on it. Upon entering you will see your opponent defending his treasure. You have to defeat him, otherwise you will not get to the weapon. It is possible that during the fight a few more enemies will enter the building. Kill them all to secure your way to the chest.
As a reward you will receive Yngling Seax - a dagger. It may work well as a second weapon for killing enemies.
War hammer
You will find the hammer in the western part of Rygjafylke, south of Stavanger, right next to the Marauder's Den.
Entering the room with the chest is quite easy if you notice the entrance right away. The hammer is on a wooden pallet - you have to jump on it. It is best done straight from the house, located right next door. The character should not have any problem with making this jump.
In front of the chest lies a frozen wolf that will not hurt you.
As a reward, you will receive the War hammer, which is a two-handed weapon. So you have to think about whether you prefer playing with this kind of weapon.
