Ashes of War are special items that allow you to change the active skill of your weapon. Thanks to them, you can exchange your weapon skill for a completely new one. You activate them by pressing the button responsible for using skills. Spirit Ashes, on the other hand, are items that, when activated, summon spirit companions that will help you in combat.

Ashes of War - Royal Knight's Resolve [2]
The ash is in Volcano Manor . After you defeat Godskin Noble, continue forward until you reach a group of human-serpent opponents. Now descend down using the hanging cages. There you'll find a room containing the ash.
Watch out for nearby opponents. If you're a magic user, you can kill them while remaining on one of the cages.
Ashes of War - Through and Through [2]
Through and Through can be found marked on your map - you need to kill an invisible scarab to get it. The scarab leaves footprints - follow them and position yourself in front of it. .
Spirit Ashes - Bloodhound Knight Floh [1]
This Spirit Ash is collected from Red Wolf of the Champion, an enemy encountered in Gelmir Hero's Grave.
Spirit Ashes - Depraved Perfumer Carmaan [2]
To get this one, you need to open a door on the right of Volcano Manor, and then hit the wall in upper-right corner of the room. It turns out to be an illusion.
As you reach the area with stairs leading down, don't follow them, but turn left. You'll reach a corridor full of snails. The corridor is a dead-end, but you can hit the wall on your left. The newly unlocked room contains the Ash.
Spirit Ashes - Man-Serpent Ashes [3]
After defeating the Godskin Noble , continue forward until you reach a group of human-serpent hybrids. Instead of turning left and jumping down on the cages, turn right. There you'll find an altar guarded by numerous hybrids. The ash is at the altar.
