On this page of the LEGO Skywalker Saga game guide, you can find a description of the boss fight with Darth Maul . It is a full-scale boss fight that occurs in the Better Call Maul level in Episode 1 (The Phantom Menace). Our walkthrough tells you how to deprive Darth Maul of all health bars.

Boss fight area

Darth Maul shows up after beginning of the Better Call Maul level in Episode 1 (The Phantom Menace).

You will begin this level after using a speeder in the Lake Paonga location with the intention of recapturing the palace.

The first stage of the fight

Ultimately, you have to deprive Darth Maul of a large health bar four times and subsequent fights with him will be separated by other scenes.

If this is your first boss fight, then the game will launch an additional tutorial. You can attack Darth Maul from a distance in two main ways:

1. Use lightsaber throw - this is a simple and effective technique to weaken the boss.
2. Use the Force - you can use the Force to pick up objects in the vicinity and throw them at the enemy.

In both cases, Darth Maul can start blocking your attacks. Help yourself by holding down the aiming button in order to lock camera on the boss and keep track of your enemy.

Also, some melee fights may occur. In the case of the latter there is a chance that one of several possible QTE scenes will trigger. All their variations involve mashing the indicated button in order to win an attempt of wrestling with Darth Maul.

An important element of this duel is to avoid strong attacks of Darth Maul, which are marked with red stripes. These include lightsaber throws and long jumps. In both cases, use dodge to avoid being within the range of the boss's attack.

Additionally, you can also rely on the option to block attacks . It can be especially useful during close combat.

The rarest attack of the boss is Force choke . If this happened then you have to protect yourself by waving the left analog stick sideways or pressing the side directional keys quickly and alternately.

The second and third phase of the duel

Keep weakening Darth Maul until he depletes his first health bar. The boss will run away for the first time and you have to chase him. A group of droids will prevent you from catching the boss - you can use the Force and lightsaber throw abilities, or simply run to them and smash them.

Droids surrounded by a force field will also stand in your way and rely on the technique of reflecting projectiles to easily sabotage their barriers.

You have to reach the first elevator - the same one that Darth Maul used earlier. Defeat another group of regular droids on the upper level.

The second duel with Darth Maul will begin soon. Its unique feature is that the boss can block all attacks (example is shown in the picture), making it impossible to attack him from the front. In such situations, you have to switch to the other hero (or ask the other player for help while playing in co-op) to attack Darth Maul from behind.

After winning the second duel, Darth Maul will damage a fragment of the floor and reveal areas that emit electricity. The only solution to this problem is to jump on subsequent protruding elements and objects in order to avoid electric shock.

Defeat more droids and get closer to Darth Maul. The main path will be blocked again and you have to use one of the side passages .

While exploring the side area, you will come across new droids and a damaged elevator , which fortunately can be easily repaired - use the Force on the component that has fallen off the elevator and place it in the appropriate slot.

Reach the top and wipe out the snipers first. After eliminating them, jump down to the lower floor to engage into the third duel with Darth Maul . He won't surprise you with new attacks. The most useful tactic is to often use the lightsaber throw.

Go to the tunnel with the force fields . You have to run between them when they are turned off in order to avoid taking damage.

You have to solve the Force-related puzzles two times:

1. In the first puzzle, simply move the interactive objects to the slots of the same color.
2. In the second puzzle, you have to place a blue object in the left slot (check the picture above). This will cause a green object to appear in the right slot . Only then you will be able to match all 4 objects to the different colored slots on the sides of the force field.

The fourth phase of the duel

After completing all puzzles, you have to engage into the last, that is, fourth duel with the boss . Darth Maul will not surprise you with any new moves. You can still throw your lightsaber at him and dodge or evade his stronger attacks.

Depriving Darth Maul's health bar for the last time will allow you to definitively defeat him and complete the mission.
