Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is the eighth main installment of the Yakuza series and a direct sequel to 2020's Yakuza: Like a Dragon. It's a jRPG developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by SEGA, both studios responsible for the franchise.

Plot

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is set after the series' seventh installment. It once again stars Ichiban Kasuga, alongside the previous series lead Kazuma Kiryu, who both get drawn into a web of unexpected events, forced to go on a yet another crazy adventure.

Mechanics

Gameplay-wise, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth follows the path set by the seventh game. The game makes use of the third-person perspective (TPP) and is set in an open world. Players complete story objectives and, as usual, a staggering amount of side content. Once again, it mainly consists of numerous mini-games.

Oftentimes we encounter enemies in turn-based battles reminiscent of old-school jRPGs. To succeed, we must skillfully use our party's unique abilities. Speaking of a party - both Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu are playable in the game.

Technical aspects

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth runs on an upgraded version of the Dragon Engine. It thus features high-quality graphics and an advanced physics engine, which plays an important role in combat.
