Batman: The Telltale Series – The Enemy Within is the sequel to Batman: The Telltale Series. Just like its predecessor, that game too was split into five episodes, the first of which was launched in August 2017. The title was designed for PC, PS4 and etc. by Telltale Games – developers of such hits like The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series and The Wolf Among Us: A Telltale Games Series.
Plot
The second season follows Batman’s efforts to stop famous supervillains. This time the Riddler is back in Gotham, but he is not the only problem. During the new adventure you also have to challenge Batman’s arch-nemesis Joker. As if that was not enough, a merciless federal agent gets into Batman’s way as well. Besides, Bruce Wayne also faces disturbances in his private life, which drives him more and more toward darkness.
Mechanics
Batman: The Telltale Series – The Enemy Within for PC, PS4 and etc. is a five-episode adventure game, in which the core gameplay is about making difficult decisions that shape the way the story unfolds. Gameplay itself is not very complicated. Following in-game sequences the player conducts conversations with various characters and explore small locations. That way you push the story forward. In key moments you make decisions that have greater or smaller impact on the plot and determine how the game ends. From time to time you also play through action-packed QTE sequences.
Similarly to Minecraft: Story Mode - A Telltale Games Series - Season 2, the game uses the Crowd Play system. This enables shared gameplay with other plaers, who help you make decisions by voting for specific choices via a mobile app.
Technical aspects
Batman: The Telltale Series – The Enemy Within features eye-catching cartoon art style based on the use of cel-shading, which is so characteristic for many recent games from Telltale. The main hero is once again voiced by Troy Baker (also known from other games, e.g. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End), whereas Joker is starred by a relatively new actor Anthony Ingruber.
