This page of the guide to LEGO Skywalker Saga explains how to open passages with a terminal with a padlock, i.e. one that requires entering a password.
Terminal with a padlock - what to do?
You can come across red padlocked terminals mainly during free exploration of open locations. They are also marked with a lock icon on the map of the area.
You can try to interact with the terminal with a padlock, but you won't be able to do anything if you don't know the password needed to unlock access to it.
Finding and using a password - access key
You have to go searching for the password and it is worth doing two things:
- Check the map of the same location, and a key icon may appear on it (more on this later on the page).
- Look around for an NPC who may have a hint on how to obtain the password for a given terminal with a padlock. In the example from the screenshot above, the heroes can learn that in order to obtain the access code, visiting a completely different planet is required. The password will not always be available in the same location!
When searching for the password, check the map of the area frequently. You can see a key icon on it. However, you must be aware that it does not necessarily indicate the location of the currently searched password. There are several dozen terminals with padlocks in the game and each of them has a separate password. So the one you found may be for some other terminal.
You have to find the right terminal with a green key and depending on the location it may be in a generally accessible place or it may require solving a puzzle (e.g. unlocking the gate).
After using the terminal, you have to complete a simple mini-game of quickly pressing the indicated button. You will receive information about obtaining a new password. You don't have to remember its symbols, because all passwords in the game are automatically entered.
With the obtained password, you must return to the terminal with a padlock. After interacting with it, your additional task will be to select the correct access code from the list of already known ones. Initially, it is not a problem, but if you know a dozen or several dozen different passwords, you must carefully review the list. It is best to search the names of the planets in the descriptions of entries in order to conclude the area of search.
Entering the correct password will unlock the terminal with a padlock and will allow you to select commands there, e.g. to unlock the door.
