Stardew Valley Fans Are Delighted About One Change in Upcoming Patch 1.6

When years after the game's premiere, fans are still excited about announcements of even single new features, it says a lot about the success of a given title. For Stardew Valley fans, one revealed change from update 1.6 was enough to make them look forward to this patch even more.

Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone, the game's developer, is slowly preparing to release a new version of his creation. This includes preparing an official list of changes, and although he has only just started working on it, he didn't fail to post a modest "teaser" online (via X).

Barone only revealed one new change: in patch 1.6, when a fruit tree is cut down, the player will also receive a "sapling" of the same quality. It still needs to grow before it begins producing fruit, but it will take less time.

This "small change" brought joy to the players, and many of them regarded it as a game changer. Barone's intention wasn't to help players "economically" (it's still better to plant a tree and "never touch it again"), but this new feature has significant applications (via X / Reddit).

Thanks to it, players will be able to recover a valuable sapling after planting it in an inappropriate place. This will enable the farm to be "remodeled" without the need for painstakingly gathering (or purchasing) new saplings of the same quality as the cut trees.

Many fans didn't expect such a change, but everyone notices and praises its advantages. And this is just one of many new features that we will see in update 1.6. Barone suggests starting the game over as soon as this update is available due to the large number of novelties, although most of them will also be accessible on old saves.

Patch 1.6 for Stardew Valley will be released on March 19. Fans have just one more week to wait for what is definitely not the last game patch.
